NEW FORD F 250 SUPER DUTY 4X4 TRUCK 2022

As part of our Pickup Truck of the Year program the winning manufacturer sends us a vehicle, outfitted just like the one that won our test, to evaluate for the period of one year. This gives us the opportunity to report back to you, our loyal readers, about issues that may arise beyond our one week of testing. Of course, it also gives us an outlet to reaffirm our decision, report on all the good test all of the features at length, and provide a real-world look at the cost of ownership. All of these are things we'd be hard pressed to complete during our Pickup Truck of the Year testing.
For 2020, the winning truck was Ford's F-250 Super Duty. After working through a series of virus-related delays, our test vehicle has finally arrived at the Truck Trend World Headquarters in Los Angeles. Like truck we tested, our long-term test Ford F-250 is equipped with the company's potent 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine, which boasts 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. Backing the diesel engine is Ford's 10-speed automatic transmission. Axle gears are 3.31:1 with an electronic locking rear differential. Naturally, the truck is four-wheel drive.
The 2020 Super Duty arrived in top-spec Limited trim, meaning not many options were left on the table. We opted for Rapid Red for the color because of its great photography ability, which was a $395 upcharge. The truck also has the FX4 off-road package and all-weather floor mats, which added $535 to the price tag. The fifth-wheel prep package added $500, while wheel-well liners tacked on another $325. Ford's Tough Bed spray-in bedliner cost $595 (and is worth every penny), and stowable loading ramps tacked on $695. The roof clearance lights cost just $95. All in, the MSRP of our 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty Limited to $87,460. After destination and delivery charges the final sticker price bumps up to $89,155.
The list of standard features is nearly a mile long. A few of the high points include LED head, fog, and taillights, illuminated scuff plates, a large twin-panel moonroof, MultiContour massaging seats, and massive chrome tow hooks. The truck is also equipped with adaptive cruise control, adaptive steering, and ProTrailer backup assist. It's equipped with Sync 3 and an 8-inch touchscreen, has a wireless phone charging pad, voice activated navigation, and offers Apple CarPlay compatibility. There's also a 360-degree camera and Ford's FordPass Connect 4G WiFi hotspot, which we're excited to also test.
